uPVC Fascias, Soffits & Guttering in Swindon, Wiltshire & Bristol
Fascia, Soffit & Guttering Services for Homes & Businesses Across Wiltshire
GWR Roofing Ltd installs and replaces uPVC fascias, soffits and guttering across Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath and Bristol. Your roofline is the first area of a property to show its age — peeling paint, rotten timber fascia boards, sagging gutters and stained soffits are common across homes built from the 1930s onwards. Replacing the old timber with uPVC eliminates the need for ongoing painting and repair, and gives the roofline a clean, consistent finish that lasts.
We supply and fit uPVC fascia boards, soffit boards (solid and vented), round and square-profile guttering, and all associated downpipes, joints and brackets. We also carry out gutter repairs, gutter re-alignment, downpipe replacements and gutter cleaning. All work is completed by our own team — no subcontractors — and quoted in writing with a fixed price before we start.
We offer a choice of colours and profiles to suit your property. White is the most common, but we also fit black, anthracite grey, rosewood and golden oak foil-wrapped finishes. Our team will advise on the right specification for your home during the quote visit.

Fascia, Soffit & Guttering Services in Swindon, Wiltshire & Bristol
uPVC Roofline Installation & Repair Specialists
GWR Roofing Ltd carries out the full range of uPVC roofline services — from complete fascia, soffit and guttering replacements to individual gutter repairs and gutter cleaning. Below is a breakdown of the work we carry out.
uPVC Fascia Installation & Replacement
Fascia boards run along the lower edge of the roof, supporting the bottom row of tiles and providing the mounting point for the guttering. On most properties built before the 1990s, the original timber fascias will be showing signs of rot, peeling paint or water damage. We remove the old timber and replace it with uPVC fascia board in your choice of colour and profile — white, black, anthracite grey, rosewood or golden oak. uPVC does not rot, does not need painting, and maintains its appearance for decades.
uPVC Soffit Installation & Replacement
Soffits are the boards that sit underneath the eaves, between the fascia and the wall. They provide ventilation to the roof space — which is important for preventing condensation and damp — and they cover the exposed rafter feet. We fit both solid and vented uPVC soffit boards. On most jobs, we install vented soffits (or soffits with circular vents) to maintain airflow, which helps protect the roof timbers and felt above.
uPVC Guttering Installation
We install uPVC guttering in half-round, square (ogee) and deep-flow profiles depending on the property type and the roof area to be drained. All guttering is fitted with the correct fall to the downpipe outlets, using new brackets fixed into the fascia at the recommended spacing. We also fit new downpipes, hoppers, shoes and connectors. The most popular colour is white, but we also fit black and anthracite grey as standard.
Gutter Repairs & Maintenance
Leaking joints, sagging sections, blocked downpipes and overflowing gutters are all common problems — especially on properties where the guttering has been in place for 20+ years. We carry out gutter repairs including joint re-sealing, bracket replacement, re-alignment of sagging runs, and replacement of cracked or damaged sections. For most gutter repairs, scaffold is not required and the work can be completed within a few hours.
Full Roofline Replacements
A full roofline replacement covers all three elements — fascias, soffits and guttering — in a single job. This is the most common option on properties where the original timber roofline has deteriorated, as replacing everything at once ensures a consistent colour match, proper ventilation and correct gutter alignment. A full roofline replacement on a typical three-bedroom semi-detached property usually takes one to two days and is quoted as a fixed price including all materials and waste removal.
Gutter Cleaning & Clearance
Blocked gutters cause water to overflow and run down the walls of the property, leading to damp, staining and in some cases structural damage over time. We carry out gutter cleaning and clearance across Swindon and Wiltshire — clearing leaves, moss, silt and debris from gutters, downpipes and hoppers, and flushing the system through to check for blockages. We recommend gutter cleaning at least once a year, ideally in late autumn after leaf fall.

UPVC Fascias, Soffits & Guttering FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions about our roofing services? Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions from our customers.
Fascias are the boards that run along the lower edge of the roof — they support the bottom row of roof tiles and provide the fixing point for the guttering. Soffits are the boards that sit underneath the eaves, covering the gap between the fascia and the wall, and they provide ventilation to the roof space. Guttering collects rainwater from the roof and channels it down through the downpipes and away from the building. Together, these three elements protect the roof structure and the walls from water damage.
uPVC roofline products typically last 20 to 30 years or more. They do not rot or require painting, although lighter colours (particularly white) may benefit from an occasional wipe-down to remove algae or dirt build-up. The guttering joints and seals may need re-sealing after 10 to 15 years, but this is a minor job compared to the ongoing maintenance required by timber.
Common signs include peeling or flaking paint on timber fascias, soft or spongy boards (a sign of rot), visible gaps between the fascia and the wall, water staining down the walls below the roofline, sagging or overflowing gutters, and nesting activity from birds or wasps in the soffit area. If your timber roofline has not been replaced since the property was built, it is likely reaching the point where uPVC replacement is the most practical option.
Yes — if the existing soffits have no ventilation (which is common on older timber installations), fitting vented uPVC soffits will improve airflow into the roof space. This helps reduce condensation, which over time can cause damp in the loft and damage to the roof timbers and insulation. Proper soffit ventilation is a Building Regulations requirement on new roofing work and is a worthwhile upgrade on any roofline replacement.
A full fascia, soffit and guttering replacement on a typical three-bedroom semi-detached property usually takes one to two days. Larger detached properties or properties with complex rooflines may take two to three days. We provide a clear timeline when we quote and the work is left tidy at the end of each day.
Roofline work involves working at height along the full perimeter of the property, which carries significant safety risks. Incorrect fitting — particularly of the guttering fall, bracket spacing and soffit ventilation — can lead to water damage, poor drainage and condensation problems. We would always recommend using a qualified installer to ensure the work is carried out safely and correctly.
Yes — all fascia, soffit and guttering installations carried out by GWR Roofing Ltd are guaranteed for workmanship. Manufacturer warranties on uPVC products are passed on to you where applicable. We are fully insured for public liability and employer's liability and can provide documentation before work starts.
